Employment Lawyer – EMP22

The role includes:

  • Working within a growing team of employment law experts in a market-leading firm in the sports and media sectors;
  • High quality and interesting employment work;
  • Drafting service agreements for senior executives and employees including coaches, players and sporting directors;
  • Advising on employment issues across a number of sports, including the provision of support to other parts of the team including corporate, commercial and immigration;
  • Advising federations, leagues, clubs, players, athletes, agents in employment related disputes before a variety of dispute resolution forums including the Premier League’s Manager’s Arbitration Tribunal;
  • Opportunity to build on your skills through a rare opportunity to have a day to day involvement in a sought after sector; and
  • Involved in a widely varied caseload coupled with a unique opportunity to grow the employment work with the existing team.

Specific Role Requirements:

  • NQ to 3 years PQE (although we will consider outstanding candidates outside this range);
  • Legally qualified to practise as a solicitor in England & Wales;
  • Varied and extensive experience within employment law;
  • Both contentious and non-contentious employment experience is required;
  • Tribunal experience is desired; and
  • Experience advising on sports and media related matters is desirable, but not necessary.

 

 

Litigation / Dispute Resolution – LIT22

The role includes:

  • Working within an existing team of specialist contentious lawyers in a market-leading firm in the sports and media sectors;
  • Advising federations, leagues, clubs, players, athletes and agents in disputes before a variety of dispute resolution forums including FA Rule K arbitrations, FA Regulatory Commissions, Premier League and EFL arbitrations / investigations, UEFA disciplinary bodies, the FIFA Football Tribunal and the Court of Arbitration for Sport;
  • Advising on high court and other commercial litigation;
  • Advising on media and social media disputes and defamation cases;
  • Advising on regulatory and disciplinary investigations including ‘on and off’ field misconduct, anti-doping cases and other integrity related issues; and
  • Opportunity to build on your skills through a rare opportunity to have a day to day involvement in a sought after sector.

Specific Role Requirements:

  • NQ to 6 years PQE (although we will consider outstanding candidates outside this range);
  • Legally qualified to practise as a solicitor in England & Wales; and
  • Experience advising on sports and media related matters is desirable, but not necessary.

 

 

Immigration – IM22

The Role:

  • Work with industry experts in the market-leading firm;
  • Be involved in a varied caseload coupled with a unique opportunity to grow the immigration work in a dedicated environment;
  • Chance to build on experience and skills through a rare opportunity to have a day to day involvement in a sought-after sector;
  • Casework including personal and business immigration cases, with a particular focus on applications under the work routes of the Points Based System;
  • Provide advice to clients on Home Office sponsorship rules and the use of the sponsor management system;
  • Advise clients on settlement and British citizenship applications;
  • Keep up to date on changes to Home Office policies / procedures;
  • Provide updates to clients;
  • Actively participate in business development, driving new firm initiatives.

Specific Role Requirements:

  • Paralegal to 3 years PQE (although we will consider outstanding candidates outside this range);
  • Good experience working on a variety of visa / immigration cases and a good working knowledge of the Immigration Rules; and
  • Experience advising on sports and media related matters is desirable, but not necessary.

 

 

Corporate / Commercial – COCO22

The role includes:

  • Advising on a wide variety of corporate and commercial matters, including: (i) transactional work, (ii) M&A, (iii) corporate advisory, (iv) private equity, (v) re-organisations, (vi) player transfer funding/finance/discounting transactions, (vii) club ownership related issues, (viii) general company secretarial matters, (ix) football transactional documentation, (x) commercial rights agreements (including sponsorship, licensing, broadcast and other content exploitation), and (xi) general commercial contracts and advice (including supply arrangements, terms and conditions, agency, distribution etc).
  • Working closely with the Partners in the delivery of a bespoke corporate service offering to existing and new clients in the Sports and Media sector;
  • Exposure to the firm’s existing stellar client base to service their corporate needs and drive new work opportunities; and
  • The opportunity to undertake a wide range of business development initiatives working with colleagues in the firm’s other practice areas.

Candidate Requirements:

  • NQ to 7 years PQE (although we will consider outstanding candidates outside this range);
  • Legally qualified to practise as a solicitor in England & Wales;
  • Experience of advising on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters detailed above (noting that some candidates will have more experience in some areas than others); and
  • Experience advising on sports and media related matters is desirable, but not necessary; and.
