Corporate Lawyer

Centrefield is expanding and we are recruiting a corporate lawyer to provide a corporate service offering to both existing and new clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for an entrepreneurial corporate lawyer to work closely with the Partners in growing the firm’s services and client base and to capitalise on the corporate opportunities which the firm is increasingly encountering from its stellar client base including many high net worth individuals.

The role includes:

  • Working closely with the Partners in the delivery of a bespoke corporate service offering to existing and new clients in the Sports and Media sector;
  • M&A, corporate advisory, private equity, re-organisations, player transfer funding/finance/discounting transactions, football club ownership related issues and general company secretarial for a variety of sporting bodies;
  • Exposure to the firm’s existing stellar client base to service their corporate needs and drive new work opportunities;
  • The opportunity to undertake a wide range of business development initiatives working with colleagues in the firm’s other practice areas.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Legally qualified to practice as a solicitor in England & Wales;
  • Excellent academics required;
  • Experience of advising on M&A, corporate advisory, private equity, re-organisations and company secretarial;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set to business development with track record of winning work;
  • Experience in working collaboratively with colleagues;
  • Ability to think and plan strategically;
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and be able to work flexibly as some evening and weekend work may be required;
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills;
  • Work with honesty, integrity and be culturally sensitive;
  • Eligible to work in the UK.

Applicants will need to have the confidence and ability to work independently so it is likely that you will be upwards of 5 years PQE although this is not a pre-requisite.
